Day 3 - My internship experience at PIM's Junior Inter.Club #2

July 17, 2016
Coffee Break!
The rain made us all shiver, as the droplets of water lashed down in icy pellets. After our daily routine of watching vines along with a cup of coffee with pleasant aroma was done, we waited in the lecture room.

When we entered the hall, we saw the animal-shaped fluffy pillows. "I will win that today", Samad said as he sat in the corner. The professors seem impressed with his enthusiasm. "Where does he get so much energy early in the morning?", I thought to myself.

Firstly, we were a given a task in groups to research on the process and the places of how the rice can be supplied to the general public. The reason why the professors had chosen rice was that Thailand was in the top 10 countries of the largest producers of rice. Mr Pithoon said, "As you all know Thailand is one of the top in the production of rice". "No, I think it's India", Yohan said serenely. Everyone burst into giggles. They thought we as Indians were stating it to show how superior our country is. The workshop was indeed a useful to help us understand the objectives beforehand.

Then the Ajarn proceeded with his lecture about logistics and supply chain management. He had explained the details of the purpose and the primary characteristics of Supply Chain Management (SCM). He then made us play an online game called "Lemonade Stand". By that game, we were able to understand how to handle the stock and the effectiveness of the method. Sometimes we would run out or pour too much of sugar or lemons. We also made a lot of changes in our pricing strategies.
Mandatory Photo Sessions after class
After lunch, we departed from PIM to witness the site of CP ALL Distribution Centre at Mahachai. Some of the stocks were new as I had not seen some of them. The program had become more attractive day by day.
